What Photorealistic Rendering Actually Shows You

1. Real materials, not guesswork. You see the exact paver color, stone veneer, decking species, cabinetry finish, and countertop — all rendered on the actual geometry of your patio. Swap a cream-colored paver for charcoal and see the whole space shift in five minutes, before you commit to tens of thousands of dollars of stone.

2. Sun and shade at any hour. We simulate sun angles across the day and across the seasons so you see when your pergola actually casts shade on the dining table, when the morning light hits the outdoor kitchen, and whether that live oak really shades the patio at 4 p.m. in July. No "I wish the pergola was two feet farther south."

3. Sightlines from inside your home. We render the view from your kitchen window, your living room, your master bedroom — so you see exactly what you will look at every morning with your coffee. This is the most overlooked element in traditional landscape design and the single biggest source of post-install regret.

4. True scale and proportion. Scale is almost impossible to judge on paper. A 20x16 patio sounds big until it is actually built and the grill, dining table, and seating area barely fit. This consultation is where we learn what "perfect" looks like in your head so we can build it in 3D.

2. Immersive 3D Design

Back at the studio, we build a digital twin of your property — the real topography, the existing home, the mature trees, the property lines — and then design the outdoor room inside it. You receive photorealistic renders from multiple angles, aerial views, first-person walk-throughs, and day and night variations. This is where "I think I want a fire pit over there" becomes "I can see exactly how it will look."

3. Clear Communication & Approval

We walk you through the full 3D render together, revise anything that does not feel right, and lock in every material, dimension, and finish. Budget is transparent, scope is explicit, and the construction schedule is laid out day by day. You sign off on exactly what you see — not a description, not a sketch, but a photorealistic preview of the finished project.

4. Professional Construction

Our crews show up when they say they will, protect your property, and build the design with integrity in every inch. Proper bases, proper drainage, licensed trades for gas and electrical, and a clean jobsite every afternoon. 5. The Walk-Through & Relax

When construction is complete, we walk the finished project with you side by side, side by side with the 3D render. You see that what was promised is what was built. Is 3D design included in every project? +

Yes — every ENC Designs project includes a photorealistic 3D render as part of the design phase, regardless of scope. Whether it is a stand-alone fire pit, a full outdoor kitchen, or a whole-property landscape redesign, you will see it in 3D before construction begins. This is the signature of our process and the reason luxury clients across coastal NC choose us.

How long does the 3D design phase take? +

After the Visionary Consultation, the initial 3D render typically takes one to three weeks depending on project complexity. We then walk through the render with you, make any revisions, and finalize approval. Most clients approve within one or two revision rounds because the render shows everything clearly from the start.

Can I make changes after seeing the 3D render? +

Absolutely — that is the entire point. The 3D render exists so you can iterate cheaply and easily. Swap a paver color, move a fire pit two feet, test a larger pergola, change the stone veneer on an outdoor kitchen — all in the digital twin, before any materials are ordered or concrete is poured. Changes in 3D are free. Changes after construction are expensive. We would much rather revise the render three times than the finished patio once.

Does the real project actually match the 3D render? +

Yes. Our 3D software uses real manufacturer material libraries — the same Techo-Bloc, Belgard, and natural stone options we actually install — so the rendered colors and textures match the finished project remarkably closely. During the final walk-through we stand with clients and compare the 3D render to the built space, and the reaction is almost always the same: "That is exactly what you showed me."

Do I own the 3D design files if I don't move forward? +

Our design phase is contracted separately from construction, so you know exactly what the render costs up front. If you decide not to move forward with ENC Designs for construction, the terms of file ownership are laid out clearly in the design agreement. We are confident enough in our process that most clients move directly from 3D approval into construction with us.
